Tonight was a special surprise for Nicholas at the reunion of his fifth grade class at Washington Elementary School in downtown Raleigh. So many familiar faces and it's shocking just how grown up these kids are! It's official...Nicholas has secured his level 1 learner's permit under the NC graduated licencing law. *NOW* I understand that look of terror my father had when *I* was taking check-rides with him... :)

Nicholas completed his required driver education classes before the schools were shut down in March due to the virus and it took more than a few months for them to figure out how to handle the behind-the-wheel requirement. Other than the tendency to drift in the lane of travel a bit...he passed the check-rides with flying colours!

Well, he obviously got the job! And in the months since, he's thrived in whatever roles they've had him doing.
