Enloe’s first away fixture of the women’s lacrosse season takes us north along the scenic corridor that is Capital Blvd and all the joys that entails of the back-to-back tailbacks all the way to Wake Forest.
At least we had a chance to wave in the general direction of Leith Toyota where Nicholas was on duty in the service department (at least in theory at the time…he was actually stuck behind the wheel of a company Prius and Jeremy Clarkson is spot-on about the joys of the world’s most environmentally unkind vehicle!).
We actually ended up at Wake Forest Middle School on a venue change which caught out Coach Nolan but he did arrive in time for the opening face-off so Miss Sarah (the captain who is nursing an injury from the Rolesville game) wouldn’t have to! 🙂
Wake Forest is one of the most formidable sides in the state (and Wake County is loaded with top-class lacrosse teams) and the game was certainly a learning experience. But the girls still seemed to have fun and do their best (including spoiling the shut-out!) in spite of the tough day in the trenches and at the end of the day, that is what truly counts!
