Enloe makes another trip downtown with tonight’s fixture being an away game against the Broughton HS Capitals on their Senior Night. Yeah, the parking still stinks (ended up in the same spot hell and gone from the stadium we got the last time!) and the temperature was turned up to BROIL and sitting on metal stands didn’t exactly help!
They had a real cool tradition where the senior girl would be introduced and walk onto the field with her family whilst a teammate up in the booth would be giving a personal tribute over the tannoy. Apparently that’s been a tradition at Broughton for years…I think enough of the Enloe girls were impressed by it that they may well adopt that one next year!
The game itself was a very strenuous workout for the defence…during the entire 50 minutes, only about 2-3 were spent in the attacking zone. Miss Heidi took a turn in net after the intermission and got a hero’s reception at full time.
Last game of the season is a rematch with Leesville Road at Sanderson’s home stadium on Wednesday!
