The Eagles take to the field after Spring Break and face the Athens Drive Jaguars at home in the friendly confines of Len Bauer Memorial Stadium. This was originally supposed to be played the day before but the rains in the morning and early afternoon moved on before the face off but the field would have been unplayable at best.
Katie returned to her usual position on defence and I’m sure she was more than happy to relinquish the crease.
Two physical halves of the game bookended the halftime celebration of the nine seniors on the team who were joined on the pitch by their parents and had a short bio of their post-graduation plans read over the PA system.
Enloe would net six goals and hung tough in spite of the physicality and some of the tactics in play (and truth be told, antics bordering on taunting on the sidelines that got their coach a warning from the officials).
But that was all forgotten in the celebration on the ramp near the western porch where the girls enjoyed some pizza after their match.
There’s no rest for the weary as tomorrow is a late away fixture against Sanderson at the Cardinal Gibbons stadium.
