It’s the first day of school after Thanksgiving and it’s always such a load of fun to get back into the swing of the usual routine.
Mistletoe decides she wants to flip the script just a little with a bit of snuggle time in my lap as she’s staring wistfully at the front door wondering when Katie will make her appearance.
She has other variations on that theme…sitting nice and pretty at the bottom of the stairs and staring up them as if Katie were hiding there. Or lying on the floor making sure the exits are covered.
But it’s a rare time she’ll actually jump up into my lap and stay for any appreciable amount of time.
Now…flopping over on her back and stretching out demanding a belly rub (or two or three)?
She’s full of that action when the kids aren’t here.
And as soon as they arrive after school, I can guarantee you that other than nicking some crisps or demanding one last belly rub…she’s going to be all about being round Katie whether it’s perching on top of the couch or generally being obnoxious whilst climbing all over here.
That’s OK…we’ll take our cuddles whenever we can get them and that’s when the mood suits her! 🙂
