Or so she thinks as she paws at my hand whilst I’m driving back to the house after dropping off Katie and Alex at school.
She’s gotten really good at knowing when the stoplight is near and she will reach out her paw and throw her head back as if to say “get on with giving me the attention I deserve”.
Who am I to question her orders?
If she’s not pawing at my right hand for petting and scratches, her other preferred position is to stand with her front paws on the centre console and then drop her head on my chest when the light is red in our direction.
This morning, she did just that on the way down the hill toward the back of Enloe but I suspect that she had other nefarious plans afoot in that canine head of hers. We had stopped by a certain Fish Water purveyor just up the hill and she saw Julia’s chosen brew but she didn’t see her puppucino which is usually stashed in the centre console.
But the ‘niffer will not be denied and she definitely could smell it but she couldn’t see where it was stashed in the little pocket on my driver’s side door. It wasn’t for lack of trying on her part…at one point, she’s past my chest and almost to the left side of the steering wheel with the ‘niffer working overtime.
She didn’t manage to find it though I’ve no doubt she had zeroed in on where it was but that’s no matter…she got her reward soon after getting to the house. And I can assure you there was not one molecule left when she was done with it! 🙂
