After dropping Alex and Katie off at school in the morning, my usual remaining passenger enjoys her time in the right seat alternating sitting up and looking all round and flopping down on the seat trying to suck me into thinking she’s getting a bit of a snooze.

It’d be a bit more believable if she wasn’t often right back up on her hind end sitting so pretty as if telling the other drivers looking in the passenger window “I’m so pretty, you should look at me!”

Normally it’s about five minutes on the motorway and a couple of side roads and we’re back at the house for her to get out and then go do some judicious sniffing of the front yard and occasionally use it for the intended purpose of fertilisation.

So imagine her surprise when she popped her head up and didn’t recognise where she was. We had gone a bit further afield in search of petrol and one station was significantly lower than anything else round here to the tune of about .30-40 per gallon. Even the usual honey holes (Sam’s on South Saunders and occasionally the Murphy Express at the Mos Eisley Wal-Mart on New Bern) were nowhere close to that and it was well worth the extra couple of miles.

Mistletoe didn’t seem to mind…she truly loves riding round in style. 🙂
