The last couple of weeks have been mostly trying to settle into the routine of the new school year which for now is in-person.
Katie and Alex are doing their sophomore and freshman years at Enloe High School and Nicholas has his automotive technician classes at Wake Technical Community College which leaves the house with just Mistletoe and me.
It’s very clear she misses the days of the Virtual Academy when she had Katie around all day to play with when Katie wasn’t actually doing her virtual classes. Most of the time during class time, you’d find Mistletoe curled up round her feet on top of the blanket in Katie’s little corner of the living room and when class was over, a certain someone thought it was play time!
Mistletoe and I will play a bit and occasionally she’ll lay down next to me as I’m stretching various ligaments and snuggle for a bit but she’s definitely Katie’s puppy and it’s almost as if she’s counting down the minutes in her head until Katie comes back through the door.
On the nights she stays here, she has also gotten into the habit of staring at the door waiting for Nicholas to come home from his evening shift at the Dairy Queen. She’d watch that door for a couple of hours until he arrived and then she was all over him as he’d walk through the door.
Occasionally Mistletoe gets a case of the “zoomies” where she’s running laps like mad. It’s hilarious watching her tear round the room tucking her hiney almost underneath her as she’s running…between that and her occasional bits of bunny paws and washing her face like a rabbit, she certainly has some very entertaining and endearing habits! 🙂
She also has such a depth of emotion in her eyes which I was trying to capture with the macro lens up close and personal. 🙂
