Taking advantage of the delightful weather a few days ago, Julia invited us over to roast some right tasty sausages and s’mores over her lovely new fire pit. OK, I’ll have to take their word on the s’mores…I’ve never cared for them because the texture really puts me off but everyone else who had them seemed to be pretty content with their choices.
Of course, one would never refuse an invitation to play around with some low-light photography of the coals and the other sources of light!
And yes, there’s even a picture of Mistletoe… 🙂
Round 2130 as I was using Star Walk 2 to point out the location of Mars and Orion to Nicholas, he noticed a series of lights passing overhead in a straight-line formation for about 90 seconds. Originally, I thought it was debris burning off the Chinese Long March 5B booster that ended up in an elliptical orbit that degraded into an uncontrolled re-entry into the atmosphere right about the same time.
It turns out that it wasn’t the booster but rather SpaceX had deployed a new constellation of Starlink satellites from their Falcon 9 rocket and all sixty of the new commsats were coasting into their proper low-Earth orbit.
Either way, it was a *REALLY COOL* sight, especially for an nerd who loves space as Katie would put it! 🙂
