Something inciting mischief must have been in the air today after Alex sings an unexpected lyric (and cracks us both up in the process!) on the way back to the house after school.
Alex is now ready for me to take him to his Chick Fil-A for a shift right at the time Nicholas turns up after running some errands that I’d imagine were of the festive variety because he was awfully insistent that his younger brother not peek at the stuff that was in his Camry’s boot.
Fair dinkum!
So as I’m hustling Alex into the Traverse, Nicholas decides he’s going to do his level best to ensure Alex doesn’t peek by closing the boot lid.
Lovely idea!
So I get into the Traverse and we get a good engine start (that’s always a lovely sign!) and as I’m waiting for the tachometer to stabilise, I figured I’d take the mickey with Nick.
My keys also has a key to that Camry with remote capabilities so of course I had to push the one that popped his boot lid with a tell-tale Toyota beep.
The look of shock that quickly turned to annoyance at having been caught out was priceless enough.
The fact that he felt compelled to come round to door 1L and show me the most notorious digit on his hand to make it clear in no uncertain terms how he felt about me in that moment definitely was the cherry on the top of the cake.
