‘Twas Our Day Before Christmas

Ah, the day before Christmas and all through the ‘hood,
it’s time for the mad people to run errands they should!
We dash on the congested roads to all the crowded malls
in search of last-minute stuff to deck the halls!

We get in long queues to pay for our goods,
doing that which the economists say that we should!
We fight our way to the Honeybaked Ham,
and no it’s not green, Sam I Am!

We load up the chariot full of food and stuff
with nary a moment to sit on our duff!
Taz and I set off for Grammy’s lickety split
in search of a place for these presents to sit!

Just when we thought our vertebrae had exploded,
here comes Mommy’s Escape with more to be unloaded!
The presents guard the tree silently through the night
knowing that tomorrow they’ll be Nicholas’ delight!

Now there is Nicholas in pajamas and there’s one thing to do,
Mommy’s reading Christmas stories in her pajamas to you!
A tradition is born, who knows where it’ll lead,
Next year we’ll find Mommy some new stories to read!

So here we are in the wee hours ready for some rest,
we’ve done quite a bit to make this Christmas the best!
And so we wish you a happy and safe holiday,
with the hopes that Father Christmas will soon come your way!
