Katie scores the lone goal for the Heat from the penalty spot (you’ll know the sequence of pictures when you see them!) by blasting the ball just inside the post and past the keeper.
BTW, do not adjust your monitor…yes, the Heat is an all-girls team plus Alex and if you pardon the pun, even though the results were not what they wished for…it was wonderful seeing the girls playing with fire and passion and together as a team depending on each other. That was what we were hoping to see to help them gain confidence in each other and themselves.
And it wasn’t like the scoring opportunities weren’t there…poor Michaela was snakebit with five shots on goal including one that went off the woodwork that could have easily broken the game wide open. Jana, Jessica, and Laura also had very strong shots on goal that required an even better play by the keeper.
The score didn’t really tell the story…these girls are ready to play hard…like GIRLS!
