Sadly, the COVID-19 restrictions wrecked any chance of a proper recital so we never did get a chance to see Katie's ballet number. Not that she would have minded that terribly much...she's never been a fan of ballet even though you could see it was definitely helping her with her other dances. Coming home...and you can see just how much that competition took out of Katie! She sacked out the vast majority of the trip!
A really long day of schlepping and wrangling props (with the most unwieldy ones being the nine triangular panels with the scenes that would be used for the "Frozen" production number as well as "Bushel and a Peck" country-inspired number complete with pink "Chicky Coop" and a stained-glass panel for "Mississippi Squirrel Revival" (my personal favourite and not just because I've actually been to the church in Pascagoula MS that inspired that famous Ray Stevens…
Dance show that finishes off the convention...and then it's on the road back home! :)
Katie and I are off to Myrtle Beach for a two-day dance convention that is required as part of being a member of her dance company. She gets some time to hang around with her friends from the former Purple Troupe and I get some time to cut the video from Showcase. Woo hoo! :)
Wouldn't you know it...Katie's first time performing in the company production number and it would happen to be "Frozen". She has consistently hated "Frozen" from the day the first movie came out and she's never changed her mind since.
